Removing ( Refitting ) 1. Remove valve guides (1a) using tool (1b).

Refitting ( Removing ) Measure the valve guide seats and check they are within the specified limits.

If necessary, ream the valve seat.Check the measurement of the new valve guide.Make a note of the measurment of the valve seat after reaming.Valve guides are supplied as spares with the diameters shown below.

The interference fit between valve guides and seats on the cylinder head is as follows.

Before fitting the new valve guides, the cylinder head has to be heated to a temperature of around 80 - 100 °C.1. Fit the valve guide oil seals (1a) using tool (1b).

If the valve guides have undergone slight deformation during assembly, ream the inner surfaces using a reamer of appropriate size.Measure valve guide bore afer dressing and clearance between bore and valve; check they are within specified values.
