2427990 - E3045 BOOT AND FUEL FLAP OPENING - Description

Description

The geared motor for opening the boot ('boot 'release') is activated by the remote control in two ways:

  • independently of the doors: there is a special button in the remote control that allows the boot only to be unlocked: the boot is released and rises slightly. The operation is signalled by the direction indicators flashing twice. the boot returns to its status prior to opening when reclosed.
  • together and simultaneously with the unlocking of the doors.
(After being unlocked) the tailgate can only be opened from the outside of the vehicle using the electric opening handle located above the number plate.

A special feature on the control panel can be used to choose the two methods described above:

  • boot unlocking controlled by the central locking: the status of the boot follows that of the door locks; .
  • independent boot release: the boot is locked when the doors are locked, whilst it can be unlocked indepedently of the unlocking of the doors
The operating strategy is controlled directly by the Body Computer. The boot opening function is disabled (the tailgate does not open) at vehicle speeds above 10 km/h to prevent undesired opening whilst driving caused, for example, by vibration of the exterior handles (on very uneven road surfaces). The remote control receiver aerial is connected directly to the Body Computer which contains the electronics for the actual receiver.
