The rearscreen wiper is operated by turning the ring nut on the
end of the lever located on the right of the steering wheel. The operation of the rearscreen wiper motor
is controlled intermittently by the electronic device inside the
steering column switch unit which also manages the windscreen wash/wipe:
the activation of the rearscreen wiper is synchronized with the
windscreen wiper, but the frequency is half that of the windscreen
wiperBy pushing the lever gently towards the
steering wheel the rearscreen washer function is activated; the
same (two-way) pump is used as for the windscreen washer, but it
rotates in the opposite direction and sends the detergent fluid
to the rear, following the same control logic: the rearscreen wiper
is activated the, as the rearscreen washer command is over, an additional
stroke is carried out.
When the windscreen wiper is working, engaging
reverse gear automatically activates the rearscreen wiper: this
function is managed by the Body Computer which forwards this information,
coming from the reversing lights function control logic, to the
electronic device in the steering column switch unit
