Refer to op.. 1004D40 engine - position on stand and remove . 1. Disconnect electrical connections (1a), (1b), (1c), (1d), (1e), (1f), (1g), (1h) and (1i).

1. Open the retaining clips (1a) and release the electrical wiring (1b).2. Open the clips (2a) and release the engine cable loom retaining duct (2b).

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the inlet manifold (1b) with injectors and throttle body.2. Undo the bolt (2a) and remove the engine oil dipstick pipe (2b).

1. Remove the upper shield (1a) and the lower shield (1b) for the timing belt.Remove the engine wiring harness.

1. Unscrew and remove spark plugs (1a) from the seats on the cylinder head (1b).

1. Undo the fixing bolts (1a) and remove the auxiliary shaft drive pulley (1b).

1. Loosen the nut fixing the automatic belt tensioner.2. Remove the timing drive belt.

1. Using the securing tools (1a), undo the bolts (1b) securing the camshaft pulley.2. Remove the camshaft pulley.

1. Undo the caps protecting the cylinder head upper bolts.2. Using the tool (2a), undo the bolts (2b) fixing the camshaft housing to the cylinder head. 3. Position the tappet retaining tools (3a) under the camshaft housing (3b) and remove it.4. Remove the gasket between the camshaft housing and the lower cylinder head.

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the cylinder head (1b).2. Remove the cylinder head gasket.3. Remove both locating dowels.

Rotate the engine on the overhauling stand.1. Undo nuts (1a) and bolts (1b) securing the oil sump to the crankcase.2. Using the tool, cut the silicon sealant along the entire perimeter of the oil sump.3. Remove the engine oil sump.
