|  | When checking the timing of a counter-rotating shaft on an engine that has not been serviced, the reference marks (arrows) on the gear secured to the crankshaft and chain body may be misaligned. If this misalignment is 90° or 180° or 270°, this is not a timing error but indicates that the Production department has used a timing adjustment procedure different to the procedure recommended for Servicing. It is not possible to check the counter-rotating shaft timing adjustment carried out during production; therefore the procedure described for Servicing must be followed. |
