Fit the timing belt.

Instructions for checking condition of toothed timing drive belt:

  • Check that the timing belt does not show signs of loose threads or cracks.
  • Check for 'black dust' along the entire length of the belt, on the toothed wheels, the shields, etc.
  • Visually inspect the belt teeth for check for any wear of the protective outer fabric.
If one or more of the above conditions indicating excess wear is found, replace the timing drive belt. The entire length of the belt should be inspected.
1. Apply maximum tension to the timing belt using the tool.
