Removing ( Refitting ) Place the car on a ramp.Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.

1. Open the boot lid, undo the bolts (1a) for the luggage retaining hooks, then remove the cover for the load compartment.
 - 7050B18  rear seat arm rest - r+r1. Undo the nuts fixing the protective for the fuel pump and place it at the side.
1. Lift up the cover and disconnect the fuel (supply) pipe (1a) from the pump.
 - 3380A44  handbrake/linkage protection - r+rLift up the handbrake lever, loosen the adjustment nut, then lower the lever.Raise the car.1. Disconnect the handbrake cables (1a) from the mounting bracket and from the fixings on the fuel tank.2. Remove the last section of the exhaust pipe (2a) and the heat shield (2b) underneath.Position a hydraulic jack under the rear suspension crossmember and undo the bolts fixing it to the bodyshell, lower the jack and the crossmember as necessary and release the fuel tank.Position a hydraulic jack under the fuel tank, then undo the nuts shown by the arrows and remove the fuel tank support rods.
1. Disconnect the rapid connector connecting the rear section of the fuel supply pipe to the front section.Lower the fuel tank as necessary to release the pipe from the retaining bands on the actual tank, then remove the pipe.
Refitting ( Removing ) Position the rear section of the fuel supply pipe and fix it to the retaining bands on the tank.Connect the connector securing the rear section of the fuel pipe to the front section.Raise the hydraulic jack and position the tank, then fix it to the bodyshell using the support rods.Remove the hydraulic jack from under the tank.Fit the heat shields and the end section of the exhaust pipe.Reposition the rear suspension crossmember brining it in contact with the bodyshell through the hydraulic jack; fix it to the bodyshell tightening the fixing bolts to torque.
