Fans

The two-speed electric cooling fans increase the heat dissipation capacity of the radiator and/or air conditioning condenser.It is controlled directly by the fuel injection control unit in accordance with a specific operating sequence (see 10).

Combined sender unit for coolant temperature gauge and overheating warning light (PREMODIFICATION)

Mounted on the cylinder head, gearbox side, it indicates the coolant temperature and controls the warning light:

• contacts open 112 ± 3° C
• contacts closed 122 ± 2° C

On postmodification versions, the functions of this sender unit are built into the double NTC engine temperature sensor fitted to the thermostat (see  See subassembly 1056   PETROL INJECTION SYSTEM ).
