The engine radiator cooling system consists
of a fan activated at only one speed corresponding to a high engine
coolant temperature. The fan is operated by means of a specific
relay located in the engine compartment near the battery. The supply line for the fan is protected
by a special maxifuse, whilst the circuit for energizing the relay
is protected by the fuse which protects numerous other services
controlled by the ignition. The fan therefore only comes on when
the ignition is switched ON.
