3239319 - E3022 HEADLAMP WASHER - Functional description

Functional description

The headlamp washer J50 is supplied (pin 30) by the direct line from the battery through the headlamp washer fuse B12 and the maxifuse J/B2 of B5 up to 2/99 or of B99 from 2/99. If the windscreen washer switch is operated, stalk switch H5 sends two signals to the windscreen wiper motor N15 ; one of these reaches headlamp washer timer J50 (pin S): it is the power source for the ignition-operated line (INT/A) of relay R1 protected by fuse F14 . (  See E3020  WINDSCREEN WASH/WIPE ). With the side lights on, a signal reaches pin 56 of J50 from the steering column switch unit H5 line. (  See E2010  SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTS ). When there are both signals at pins S and 56, the relay, inside the device J50 which supplies the electric headlamp washer pump N25 with impulses of about half a second, is energized for a certain time.
