Removing ( Refitting ) Position the vehicle on the ramp.Ensure that the ignition key is in OFF position, then disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Proceed with removal  - 7040B10  load platform (luggage platform) trim - r+r . Proceed with removal  - 7050B18  rear seat arm rest - r+r . Proceed with removal  - 7050A20  one-piece rear seat cushion - r r . Proceed with removal  - 7050B10  l/h or r/h head restraint (one) of rear seat - r+r . Proceed with removal  - 7050A19  rear seat squab - r r . Proceed with removal  - 1040A70  submerged pump assembly complete with level guage control - r + r .

The fuel pump cannot be used when refitting because the fuel tank is supplied by the Parts Dept. together with the immersed pump assembly complete with gauge and float valves.

Drain the fuel from the tank using suitable equipment.Remove the handbrake boot.1. Lift up the handbrake lever (1a), loosen the adjustment nut (1b), then lower the lever. 1. Disconnect the handbrake cables (1a) from the mounting bracket (1b) and from the fastenings on the fuel tank (1c). Proceed with removal  - 1076B20  rear exhaust silencer - r + r . Remove the exhaust pipe heat shield.1. Position a hydraulic jack under the rear suspension crossmember.2. Undo the bolts (2a) and lower the rear suspension crossmember (2b), as necessary, using the hydraulic jack.3. Position a hydraulic jack under the fuel tank.4. Unscrew nuts (4a) and removethe fuel tank mount belts (4b). 1. Undo the nuts (1a) and the bolts (1b) and remove the protection (1c) for the fuel filler pipe after having released it from the bands. 1. Disconnect the rapid attachments for the fuel vapour recovery pipes from the float valves to the fuel vapour separator. 1. Disconnect the fuel filler pipe from the tank. 1. Disconnect the rapid connector for the fuel vapour recovery pipe from the multi-purpose valve to the fuel vapour filter. Lower the hydraulic jack and remove the complete fuel tank. Refitting ( Removing ) Place a new fuel tank assembly back in the housing using a hydraulic jack.

Take care to position the pipes between body and fuel tank correctly.

Connect the rapid attachment for the fuel vapour recovery pipe from the multipurpose valve to the fuel vapour filter.Connect the fuel filler pipe to the tank.Connect the rapid attachments for the fuel vapour recovery pipes from the float valves to the fuel vapour separator.Place the fuel fillter pipe protection back in its housing, secure it using the bands, then tighten the nuts and bolts.1. Place the fuel tank support belts (1a) back in their housings and secure them using the nuts (1b).2. Remove the hydraulic jack from under the fuel tank.3. Place the rear suspension crossmember (3a) back in its housing using the hydraulic jack and tighten the bolts (3b) to the recommended torque.

4. Remove the hydraulic jack supporting the rear suspension crossmember. Place the exhaust pipe heat shield back in its housing. Proceed with refitting  - 1076B20  rear exhaust silencer - r + r . Connect the handbrake cables to the mounting bracket and to the fastenings on the tank. Proceed with refitting  - 3380A04  handbrake - check travel . Place the handbrake boot back in its housing.1. Connect the rapid attachment for the fuel supply pipe.2. Connect the electrical connection (2a) to the immersed pump assembly complete with gauge, then place the access cover (2b) back in its housing and secure it using the rear nuts (2c). 1. Place the reinforcement brackets (1a) back in their housings and secure them using the nuts (1b). 1. Place the frame (1a) back in its housing and secure it using the plastic buttons (1b). Proceed with refitting  - 7050A19  rear seat squab - r r . Proceed with refitting  - 7050B10  l/h or r/h head restraint (one) of rear seat - r+r . Proceed with refitting  - 7050A20  one-piece rear seat cushion - r r . Proceed with refitting  - 7050B18  rear seat arm rest - r+r . Proceed with refitting  - 7040B10  load platform (luggage platform) trim - r+r . Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.Remove the car from the ramps.
