Drain the air conditioner coolant circuit  - 5040A10  Air conditioning refrigerant CIRCUIT - Draining and Refilling . Proceed with removal  - 4450B04  right front wheel r r . Proceed with removal  - 7055B54  under-engine guard - r r . Proceed with removal  - 1016A40  ignition coil cover on cylinder head- r+r . Proceed with removal  - 5040A20  air conditioner compressor - r+r - includes fluid level check and top up if necessary . Proceed with removal  - 5040A26  compressor mount - r r . Proceed with removal  - 1076A48  catalytic converter heat shield - r r . Proceed with removal  - 1080B62  catalytic converter - r + r . Proceed with removal  - 1016C10  cylinder head - r + r and replace gasket . Proceed with removal  - 1020A20  crank case oil sump - r + r clean seals for sealant application . Rotate the crankshaft until the pistons for cylinders 1 and 4 are at B.D.C.1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the connecting rod caps (1b), complete with half-bearings (1c), for cylinders 1 and 4. 1. Release and remove the piston-connecting rod assemblies (1a), complete with half-bearings (1b) for cylinders 1 and 4. Follow the same procedure to remove the piston-connecting rod assemblies for the 2nd and 3rd cylinders. Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Place the piston-connecting rod assemblies (1a) for the 2nd and 3rd cylinders, complete with half-bearings (1b), back in their housings using a suitable fitting tool.

Fit the piston-connecting rod assemblies so that the arrows stamped on the piston crowns face the exhaust end.

1. Fit the cylinder 2 and 3 connecting rod caps (1a), complete with half-bearings (1b), and secure by tightening the bolts (1c) to the recommended torque.

The safety notches on the connecting rod cap and connecting rod head must be on the same side.

Use the tool for angular tightening of the connecting rod cap bolts.

Proceed with refitting  - 1020A20  crank case oil sump - r + r clean seals for sealant application . Proceed with refitting  - 1016C10  cylinder head - r + r and replace gasket . Proceed with refitting  - 1080B62  catalytic converter - r + r . Proceed with refitting  - 1076A48  catalytic converter heat shield - r r . Proceed with refitting  - 5040A26  compressor mount - r r . Proceed with refitting  - 5040A20  air conditioner compressor - r+r - includes fluid level check and top up if necessary . Proceed with refitting  - 1016A40  ignition coil cover on cylinder head- r+r . Proceed with refitting  - 7055B54  under-engine guard - r r . Proceed with refitting  - 4450B04  right front wheel r r . Fill the air conditioner coolant circuit  - 5040A10  Air conditioning refrigerant CIRCUIT - Draining and Refilling . Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.Refill the engine cooling system with coolant .Remove the car from the ramps.
