3239060 - 1004D40 engine - position on stand and remove

1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the insufficient engine oil pressure sensor.

2. Undo the bolt (2a) and remove the single drive belt fixed tensioner (2b).3. Undo the bolts (3a) and remove alternator (3b).

1. Use a suitable wrench to remove the engine oil filter2. Loosen the collars securing the coolant inlet and outlet pipes to the engine oil heat exchanger.3. Undo the nut (3a) and remove the engine oil heat exchanger (3b), complete with pipes (3c).

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the engine oil filter/intermediate drive shat mount (1b).2. Remove the seal.

Remove guide pipe for the engine oil dipstick.1. Undo the nuts (1a) and remove the left exhaust manifold (1b).2. Remove the gaskets.

Secure and support the engine for hoisting using a hydraulic hoist fitted with suitable chains.1. Fit the engine on the overhauling stand using the brackets.

Release the engine from the hoist.

Secure and support the engine for hoisting using a hydraulic hoist fitted with suitable chains.Undo the fastenings and remove the engine complete with mounting brackets from the service stand.Undo the fixings and remove the mounting brackets from the engine and put them down.Place the exhaust manifold gaskets back in their housings.1. Refit left exhaust manifold (1a) and secure by tightening bolts (1b) to the specified torque.

Refit the guide tube and engine oil dipstick.Refit the engine oil filter/intermediate drive shaft mount, complete with a new gasket, and fix it tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.Place the engine oil heat exchanger, complete with pipes, back in its housing and fix it using the nut.Connect the water inlet and outlet pipes to the heat exchanger and fix them using the bands.Fit the engine oil filter and tighten it fully by hand.Place the alternator back in its housing and secure it using the bolts.Place the engine components single drive belt fixed tensioner back in its housing and fix it tightening the bolt to the recommended torque.Connect the electrical connection to the engine oil pressure warning sensor.
