3239187 - 7010A Location of rear door wind noise
Tape the various areas shown in the diagram using masking tape.
Road test the vehicle letting it gradually
reach the speed where the noise appears: if the noise persists,
carry out the preliminary location test on the entire vehicle (see
See Test 70 Location of wind noise (preliminary location)
).
Remove the masking tape from zone A and
repeat the road test: if the noise persists, adjust the door hinges
(see Op.
7010A14 rear side door - adjust centering and moulding -
includes adaptation of hinges and seals on door compartment
).
Remove the shims from the upper hinge or add shims to the lower
hinge so that the door adheres better to the seal.
Remove the masking tape from zone B and
repeat the road test: if the noise persists, adjust the door hinges
(see Op.
7010A14 rear side door - adjust centering and moulding -
includes adaptation of hinges and seals on door compartment
).
Remove or add shims for the two hinges, so that the door adheres
better to the seal.
Remove the masking tape from zone C and
repeat the road test; if the noise persists, check the condition
of the rear handle and, in particular, the presence of the seal
around the lever (see Op.
7010C11 rear
side door outside handle-r r
).
Remove the masking tape from zone D and
repeat the road test: if the noise persists, check the condition
of the door housing seal in that area and that it adheres correctly
to the bodyshell (see Op.
7010A34 rear
side door compartment seal r r
); also
check that the window seal is correctly matched (with the window
closed).
Remove the masking tape from zone E and
repeat the road test: if the noise persists, check the condition
of the glass scraper (see Op.
7010D26 rear side descending window glass scraper (outer)
r r
).
