Functional description

The supply controlled by the ignition (INT) for the check module E30 reaches pin 13 of the line protected by fuse F4 of the additional fuse box B98B ; pins 2, 5, 10, 12 and 14 are earthed. Insufficient engine oil pressure is signalled to pin 16 of module E30 from the earth signal coming from the sensor K30 . The ABS control unit M50 sends the 'ABS failure' signal to pin 8 of E30 which lights up the warning light. The ABS control unit M50 sends pin 11 of E30 the 'EBD failure' signal. The signals for the handbrake switch I40 and brake fluid level sensor K25 both reach pin 7 of connector A of E10. and from there are resent to the check module E50, pin 4.
The low brake fluid level and handbrake warning light also comes on upon a command from the ABS control unit., together with the ABS failure warning light, to indicate a fault in the EBD braking system.  See E7020  ABS .
If it comes on by itself, the brake fluid level is low or the handbrake is on.For all the other warning lights, refer to the diagrams for the components to which they refer.
