3238415 - 5520B12 starter motor - r+r for versions with a/c

Removing ( Refitting ) Position the vehicle on the ramp.Disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.

1. Disconnect the air inlet hose from the inlet manifold.2. Disconnect the vapour supply pipe to the inlet from the oil vapour separator.3. Undo nuts (3a), then remove the oil vapour separator (3b).4. Remove the bracket.
Undo the outer starter motor bolts.1. Undo the upper engine oil dipstick tube bolt.
Raise the vehicle.1. Unscrew the bolts securing the front exhaust pipe section to the turbocharger.2. Undo the nuts (2a) and remove the reinforcement bracket (2b).3. Lower the front exhaust pipe section as necessary.
1. Undo the lower bolt (1a) and remove the engine oil dipstick (1b).2. Disconnect the electrical connections from the starter motor.3. Undo the remaining bolt (3a) and remove the starter motor (3b).

Refitting ( Removing ) Fit the starter motor and tighten the inner bolt to torque.

Connect the electrical connections to the starter motor.Fit the engine oil dipstick and tighten the lower bolt.Fit the reinforcement bracket and fix it using the nuts.Tighten the bolts securing the front section f the exhaust pipe to the turbocharger.Lower the vehicle.Tighten the upper engine oil dipstick pipe.Tighten the outer starter motor bolts.

Replace the oil vapour separator complete with bracket in its housing and fix it using the nuts.Connect the vapour supply pipe to the inlet from the oil vapour separator.Connect the air inlet hose to the inlet manifold.Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.Remove the car from the ramp.
