Position the vehicle on the ramp. Proceed with removal - 4450B08 right rear wheel r r . Drain the fuel from the tank using suitable equipment.Remove the handbrake boot.1. Lift up the handbrake lever (1a), loosen the adjustment nut (1b), then lower the lever.

1. Disconnect the handbrake cables (1a) from the mounting bracket (1b) and from the intermediate fixings (1c).

1. Position a hydraulic jack under the rear suspension crossmember.2. Undo the bolts (2a) and lower the rear suspension crossmember (2b), as necessary, using the hydraulic jack.

1. Position a hydraulic jack under the fuel tank.2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the fuel tank support belts (2b).3. Disconnect the fuel supply and return pipe couplings from the tank.4. Undo the bolts (4a) and remove the protection (4b) for the fuel filler pipe. 5. Disconnect the fuel filler pipe from the tank.

1. Lower the hydraulic jack and remove the tank complete with fuel supply and return pipes and multi-purpose valve.

Refitting ( Removing

The fuel tank is supplied by the Parts Dept. together with the immersed pump assembly complete with gauge. Therefore if the tank is being replaced it is not possible to reuse the immersed pump assembly complete with gauge, but the new pre-assembled unit consisting of the tank - pump supplied by the Parts Dept. must be fitted.

Place the fuel tank, complete with fuel supply and return pipes and multi-purpose valve, back in position using the hydraulic jack. Connect the fuel filler pipe to the tank.Fit the fuel filler pipe protection and fix it using the bolts.Connect the fuel tank supply and return pipe couplings. Fit the fuel tank support belts and fix them using the bolts.Remove the hydraulic jack from under the fuel tank.Place the rear suspension crossmember back in its housing using the hydraulic jack and fix it tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

Remove the hydraulic jack from under the rear suspension crossmember.Connect the handbrake cables to the mounting bracket and to the intermediate fixings. Proceed with refitting - 3380A04 handbrake - check travel . Refit the handbrake boot. Proceed with refitting - 4450B08 right rear wheel r r . Remove the car from the ramps. Refill the vehicle using the recommended fuel.
