) Position the vehicle on a lift.Proceed with removal - 1016A10 SOUNDPROOFING COVER - R&R. .Proceed with the removal Op. 7055B54 UNDER-ENGINE GUARD - R R.Proceed with the removal Op. 1084A16 OIL DIP STICK PIPE - R R.1. Undo the plug and drain the engine oil.

Collect the engine oil in a suitable container. The engine oil contains substances that are harmful to the environment.Place the oils in containers designed for oil collection and disposal.

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the heat shield (1b) for the exhaust pipe.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the front section of the exhaust pipe to the catalytic pre-converter.2. Undo the nuts fixing the front section of the exhaust pipe to the catalytic pre-converter.3. Remove the front section of the exhaust pipe complete with gaskets.

1. Unscrew bolts (1a) and nuts (1b) securing the catalytic preconverter bracket.

1. Loosen collar (1a) and remove catalytic preconverter (1b).2. Recover the catalyltic preconverter mounting bracket.

1. Loosen the collar and disconnect the condensate oil recovery pipe from the crankcase sump.2. Disconnect the electrical connection for the engine oil level sensor.

3. Undo the bolt connecting the intermediate driveshaft bearing support to the crankcase sump.4. Undo the bolts fixing the manual gearbox-differential unit to the crankcase sump.

1. Undo the front and rear bolts (1a) fixing the crankcase sump using the tool (1b).

2. Undo the side bolts (2a) fixing the crankcase sump using the tool (2b).

3. Cut the crankcase sump sealant using the tool.

4. Remove the crankcase sump.

Refitting ( Removing

) Thoroughly clean traces of sealant of the mating surfaces between the crankcase sump and engine block.Apply silicon sealant to the entire perimeter of the crankcase sump.1. Place the crankcase sump in its housing.

When positioning the crankcase sump, avoid significant sideways movements that could remove the sealant.

2. Tighten the side bolts (2a) fixing the crankcase sump to the recommended torque using the tool (2b).

3. Tighten the front and rear bolts (3a) fixing the crankcase sump to the recommended torque using the tool (3b).

1. Tighten the bolts fixing the manual gearbox-differential unit to the crankcase sump to the specified torque.

2. Undo the bolt connecting the intermediate driveshaft bearing support to the crankcase sump.3. Connect the electrical connection to the engine oil level sensor.4. Connect the condensate oil recovery pipe to the crankcase sump and tighten the collar.

Refit the catalytic preconverter complete with bracket and secure to the turbocharger using the collar.Tighten the bolts and nuts securing the catalytic preconverter bracket.1. Remove the front section of the exhaust pipe complete with gaskets.2. Tighten the nuts fixing the front section of the exhaust pipe to the catalytic pre-converter to the specified torque.

3. Tighten the nuts fixing the front section of the exhaust pipe to the catalytic pre-converter to the specified torque.

Place the lower exhaust manifold heat shield in its housing and secure it using the bolts.Fit a new engine oil drain plug complete with new seal and tighten it to the recommended torque.
