When the ignition is turned ON nothing happens and the instruments do not light up. The starter motor does not turn in the (AVV) starting position.

	Check the efficiency of the battery using the appropriate diagnostic equipment	Move on to Step 2	Battery not working properly	Replace the battery
2	FASTENINGS CHECK	All OK	Problems encountered	Operation
	Check that the petrol vapour recovery system is working properly Check the following, in order: Correct fastening and earth connection of the negative battery terminal Correct fastening of positive battery pole and all leads connected to it No oxidation of the lead fastenings Correct fastening and connection between positive pole and junction with maxifuse at the battery	Move on to Step 3	Lead fastenings at the battery slack	Tighten leads
			Earth lead frayed	Replace the lead Op. 5530B22 BATTERY EARTH LEAD - R+R
			Connections with slack fastenings	Restore fastenings
			Maxifuse burnt out	Check the causes of the blown fuse and replace it: wiring diagram See E1010 SUPPLY

	Check switch power supply	Move on to Step 4	The power supply does not reach the switch	Check the continuity of the wiring between the Maxifuse in the battery junction unit and the switch

	Check that the fault is no longer present		Fault persists: control unit defective	Replace the control unit Op. 1056B82 Search for the problem starting from another symptom
