125002247 - E3030 HEATED REAR WINDSCREEN AND DOOR MIRROR DEFROSTING - FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION (Right hand drive)

Functional description

The heated rear windscreen relay T11, located in the underdashboard control unitB2, controls the simultaneous activation of the defrosting function for both the heated rear windscreenP55- line protected by fuse F40 - and the external rear view mirrorsP60 andP61and the defrosting resistors for the rearscreen washerO50and051- line protected by fuse F41.The supply for the coil for relayT11 is ''controlled by the ignition'' (INT/A) and is energized by an earth signal coming from the Body Computer M1 - pin 6 of connector F;this signal is sent according to the complex control logic described previously and, in particular, when a signal arrives, via the CAN, coming from the climate control system control unitM70(heated rear windscreen button pressed or MAX-DEF function on); the feedback signal for lighting up the LED is sent to the control unitM70via the CAN line. The low outside temperature signal, which switches on the automatic defrosting, detected by a sensor inside the external rear view mirrorP60, also reaches the control unit in the doorH44 via the CAN line.
