) Position the vehicle on a lift.Make sure that the ignition key is in the OFF position, then disconnect the negative battery terminal (-)

1. Release the manual gear lever boot and remove it.2. Remove the rubber protection.

Release the handbrake boot and remove it.1. Lift up the handbrake lever (1a) and undo the handbrake cable tensioning nut (1b).2. Disconnect the electrical connection from the handbrake switch.

Oopen the button (1a), then release and remove the manual gearbox lever boot (1b) working on the retaining clips.

Proceed with the removal Op. 5530B10 BATTERY - R+R.Proceed with the removal Op. 5530B52 BATTERY DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R..1. Disconnect the gear selector and engagement cables.2. Remove the retaining plates (2a) and release the gear selector and engagement cables rom the mounting bracket (2b).

Proceed with the removal Op. 7055B54 UNDER-ENGINE GUARD - R R.1. Undo the nut fixing the gear selection and engagement cables mounting bracket to the power assisted steering box.

Proceed with the removal Op. 1076B82 LEFT EXHASUST PIPE BETWEEN CATALYTIC PRECONVERTER AND CONVERTER R R.Proceed with the removal Op. 1076B84 RIGHT EXHAUST PIPE BETWEEN CARALYTIC PRECONVERTER AND CONVERTER R R.Proceed with the removal Op. 1080B96 LEFT REAR LAMBDA SENSOR ON CATALYTIC CONVERTER R R.Proceed with the removal Op. 1080B97 RIGHT REAR LAMBDA SENSOR ON CATALYTIC CONVERTER R R.1. Undo the bolts fixing the catalytic converter assembly, intermediate silencer side.2. Remove the catalytic converter assembly (2a) complete with gasket after having released it from the flexible mountings (2b).

1. Loosen the collar securing the rear exhaust silencer collar to the intermediate exhaust silencer.2. Remove the intermediate exhaust silencer (2a) after releasing it from the flexible mounting (2b) and from the rear exhaust silencer.

1. Undo units (1a), bolt (1b) and remove the front exhaust pipe heat shield (1c).

1. Disconnect the handbrake cables from the bracket.

1. Place a hydraulic jack under the mounting for the gearbox and handbrake control levers.2. Undo the bolts (2a) and the nuts (2b) fastening the mounting for the handbrake and electro-hydraulic selection gearbox control levers.3. Recover the shims.4. Lower the hydraulic jack as necessary and remove the exhaust pipe side heat shields.

1. Completely lower the hydraulic jack and remove the mounting for the handbrake and gearbox control levers.

1. At the bench, undo the bolts (1a) and remove the handbrake lever assembly (1b).

1. Undo the nuts fixing the manual gearbox control lever.2. Disconnect the gear selector and engagement cables from the manual gearbox control lever.3. Remove the clips fastening the gear selector and engagement cables to the to the manual gearbox control lever.4. Remove the gear selector and engagement cables.5. Remove the manual gearbox control lever.

Refitting ( Removing

) Place the manual gearbox control lever and the gear selection and engagement cables back in their housings.Fasten gear selector and engagement cables to the to the manual gearbox control lever using the clips.Connect the gear selector and engagement cables to the manual gearbox control lever.Tighten the nuts fixing the manual gearbox control lever.Place the handbrake lever assembly on the mounting and secure it using the bolts.Place the mounting for the handbrake and gearbox control levers back in position using a hydraulic jack.Place the exhaust pipe side heat shields back in their housings.Tighten the bolts and the nuts complete with plates fastening the mounting for the handbrake and gearbox control levers.Remove the hydraulic jack from underneath the mounting for the handbrake and gearbox control levers.Connect the handbrake cables to the bracket.Place the exhaust pipe heat shield back in its housing and secure it using the bolt and the nuts.Place the intermediate exhaust silencer in its seat, connect to the rear exhaust silencer and secure it using the flexible support.Tighten the collar connecting the intermediate exhaust silencer to the rear exhaust silencer.1. Place the catalytic converter assembly (1a) back in its housing complete with gasket and secure it to the flexible mountings (1b).2. Tighten the bolts fixing the catalytic converter assembly, intermediate silencer side to the recommended torque.

Proceed with the refitting Op. 1080B97 RIGHT REAR LAMBDA SENSOR ON CATALYTIC CONVERTER R R.Proceed with the refitting Op. 1080B96 LEFT REAR LAMBDA SENSOR ON CATALYTIC CONVERTER R R.Proceed with the refitting Op. 1076B84 RIGHT EXHAUST PIPE BETWEEN CARALYTIC PRECONVERTER AND CONVERTER R R.Proceed with the refitting Op. 1076B82 LEFT EXHASUST PIPE BETWEEN CATALYTIC PRECONVERTER AND CONVERTER R R.Tighten the nut fixing the gear selection and engagement cables mounting bracket to the power assisted steering box.Proceed with the refitting Op. 7055B54 UNDER-ENGINE GUARD - R R.1. Position the gear lever (1a) in contact with the reverse gear inhibitor partition (1b).

1. Loosen the adjustment nut on the gear selection and engagement assembly.2. Position the spacer tool under the gear engagement lever.

3. Connect the gear selector cable.Tighten the adjustment nut on the gear selection and engagement assembly.

Place the gear lever in Reverse and remove the tool positioned under the gear engagment lever.

Place the gear lever in neutral.Connect the gear engagement cable.Fasten the gear selection and engagement cables and secure to the mounting bracket with the retaining plates.

Check that the dust covers for the gear selection and engagement cables are near the reaction bracket.

Proceed with the refitting Op. 5530B52 BATTERY DRIP TRAY/SUPPORT - R.R..Proceed with the refitting Op. 5530B10 BATTERY - R+R.Connect the electrical connection to the handbrake switch.Proceed with the refitting Op. 3380A04 HANDBRAKE - CHECK TRAVEL.Place the rubber protection back in its housing.Place the manual gearbox lever boot in position.Connect the negative battery terminal (-).Remove the vehicle from the lift.
