• Start up the engine and keep it idling.
• Disconnect the phase transformer supply leads.
• Connect the two transformer terminals to the battery.
• Check that, with the transformer supplied, the engine revs fall until it almost cuts out.
• If this takes place it means that both the transformer electromagnet and the tranformer hydraulic actuator are working.
