Removing ( Refitting )

• Make sure that the ignition key is in the OFF position, then disconnect the battery terminal (-).

•     Op. 1016A40 IGNITION COIL COVER ON CYLINDER HEAD- R+R

1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the right Lambda sensor.

2. Disconnect the electrical connection for the air conditioner compressor.

3. Disconnect the electrical connection for the left Lambda sensor.

1. Disconnect the electrical connections from the ignition coils.

2. Release the electrical wiring from the fastenings on the tappet cover.3. Undo the bolt (3a) and disconnect the earth lead (3b) from the ignition coil single mounting plate.

• Disconnect the high tension lead caps (1a) from the spark plugs using the tool (1b).

• Undo the bolts fixing the ignition coil single support plate.
• Pull the plate (2a) upwards complete with ignition coils (2b).

• At the bench, undo the bolts and separate the ignition coils from the plate.

The ignition coils are all identical and are interchangeable as long as the right cap is fitted on the large spark plug for cylinders 1 and 2 and on the small spark plug for cylinders 3 and 4.

Refitting ( Removing )

• Place the plate complete with ignition coils in position.
• Tighten the bolts fixing the ignition coil single support plate.
• Connect the caps for the high tension leads to the spark plugs.
• Connect the earth lead to the ignition coil single mounting plate and secure it using the bolt.
• Secure the electrical wiring using the fastenings to the tappet cover.
• Connect the electrical connections to the ignition coils.
• Connect the electrical connection for the left Lambda sensor.
• Connect the electrical connection for the air conditioner compressor.
• Connect the electrical connection for the right Lambda sensor.

• Connect the negative battery terminal (-).
