Description

The following diagram shows the various earths on the vehicle, and the circuits connected to each are indicated.It is thus easy to identify the circuits which are connected to earth from the same line; this facilitates fault finding if a problem involves more than one function: for example, the corrosion of one earth could put different circuits and several functions out of action at the same time.The earths on the vehicle are divided according to the various wiring they belong to.

Radiator wiring:

• battery earth, C01 A

Front wiring:

• left front earth, C10
• ABS front earth (at left corner), C12
• electric steering front earth, C14
• earth on engine, C40 (petrol engine only)

Dashboard wiring:

• passenger dashboard wiring earth, C20
• Air Bag system earth, C50A

Rear wiring:

• passenger dashboard wiring earth, C20B
• left rear earth, C30
• right rear earth, C31
• Air Bag system earth, C50B

Battery negative wiring:

• battery earth on engine (on gearbox), C02
• battery earth on bodyshell, C03

Engine wiring:

• earth on engine, C40 (petrol engine only)

Air conditioning wiring:

• air conditioning unit earth (on right side of dashboard), C16
