2399210 - E2510 COURTESY LIGHTS - Description

Description

The front courtesy light includes two bulbs with three control switches.

  • one of the lights only can be turned on using the external switches;
  • the centre switch can be used to turn on both the lights constantly or with the delay function, as described below, or it can be used to disactivate them both.
The centre rear courtesy light only has one bulb and can be switched on or off using the relevant switch.

The lighting for the front courtesy light is timed when one of the doors is opened on the basis of a logic managed by the Body Computer.

  • when one of the doors is opened, the courtesy light is timed to stay on for 3 minutes and this function is reactivated each time one of the doors is opened;
  • if a door remains open for longer than three minutes, the courtesy lights go out and remain off until one of the doors is next opened;
  • If, during this period of 3 minutes, all the doors are closed again, a second period of 10 seconds is activated and is interrupted if the ignition key is turned on;
  • when the doors are opened using the remote control (door unlocking), the front courtesy lights come on for 10 seconds; the timing is interrupted if the ignition key is turned ON;
  • when the vehicle is locked (door locking) the courtesy lights go off;
  • when the ignition key is turned OFF and extracted (the Body Computer checks that there is no Transponder): the courtesy lights are activated for 10 seconds;
  • the courtesy lights are also turned on if the inertia switch is operated (the information is sent via the instrument panel CAN). for a period of 15 minutes.
The switching on and off takes place gradually (dimmer) with a cycle lasting 2 seconds.If one or more of the doors is open, this is shown on the instrument panel display; in addition, the warning light remains on until all the vehicle doors and the boot are perfectly closed. In addition if this signal is associated with a particular speed threshold being surpassed, an acoustic signal is activated.The power supply for all the courtesy lights follows the battery voltage control logic (SBMT); with the ignition OFF, when any of the doors or the boot is opened, or if the doors are unlocked, the timer is set at 15 minutes after which all the courtesy lights are deactivated.
