2399283 - E3070 CIGAR LIGHTER / CURRENT SOCKET - Description
Description
The standard type current socket which can be used for connecting
instruments or equipment that operate on 12 V is located in the
tunnel console next to the handbrake. The socket ring nut is lit
up when the side lights are on
See E2530 INSTRUMENT LIGHTING
.
Also on the tunnel console, behind towards
the rear seats, there is a second current socket, similar to the
previous one.A third additional current socket is available
on request in the luggage compartment, the same type as the previous
ones. The power sockets all have a heat protection
device: if devices with high energy absorption are connected, this
protection cuts off the supply. The circuit for the two current sockets
on the console is protected by a special fuse and is operated by
the relay which is excluded when the ignition is switched on and
is located in the junction unit. These sockets work with the ignition
switched ON (INT/A) to prevent the battery from being run down. The circuit for the rear current socket,
on the other hand, is protected by a dedicated fuse and operated
by the services relay for the control unit under the dashboard:
the power supply is available both with the ignition ON and with
the ignition OFF: during starting, this relay is temporarily deactivated,
whilst with the ignition OFF, the Body Computer keeps the relay
activated for 3 minutes, but deactivates it 30 seconds after one
of the doors is opened. The cigar lighter resistance can also be
located in the front socket in the console, to operate it simply
press the knob: after a few seconds it pops out automatically,
ready for use. This resistance is only supplied on request,
in a 'smokers kit' comprising, in addition to the cigar lighter,
a removable ashtray in the shape of a glass that is placed in the
glass holder.
