The Electrical Power Steering (EPS) system reduces the effort
required to steer the car by using the torque produced by an electric
motor. An electronic control unit manages and controls
the system: by processing the incoming information and using a preset
operating logic the control unit determines the direction of rotation
and the supply current for the electric motor producing the desired
power-assisted effect. It is possible, using the special CITY button
located in the control panel in the centre of the dashboard,to alter
the level of power assistance for the electric steering. On the instrument panel, there is the electric
power steering fault warning light; When the CITY function is on
this is shown by a special warning light in the instrument panel.
