2401049 - 5040A CHECK ON OPERATION OF AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM (TEMPERATURE)

The test must be carried out at an external temperature ET between 18° Χ ανδ 30° Χ, on the car when it has stabilised at this temperature. If the car comes from an external environment with a temperature <18° C or >30° Χ, it must be stabilised for 1h with the windows lowered.
Connect the recharing device high and low pressure pipes to the climate control system gas circuit filling fittings.Open the ventilation outlet flaps (on the facia) and introduce a thermometer (or suitable tool) into the central outlet through the fins by about 30 mm.Close all the doors and windows.Start up the engine and let it idleTurn off the compressor (led on key off)Deactivate recirculation (orange led on key off)Run fan at maximum speed by pressing button 10 until 12 bars appear on the central display. One minute after completing the above operations, read temperature T0 reading on the thermometer and note it down.Check that external temperature ET has not been exceeded by more than 5° C

Check that the pressure readings on the pressure gauges in the high and low pressure fttings are the same as one another and equal to:

  • same as/about 5 bar for outdoor temperatures of about 20° Χ;
  • same as/about 6 bar for outdoor temperatures of about 30° Χ
Activate recirculation by pressing key (led on key on)Activate the compressor (led on key on)2 minutes after the compressor has been switched on, check that the temperature of the air, shown on the thermometer, has decreased by at least 8° C compared with the initial value T0.5 minutes after the compressor has been switched on, check that the temperature of the air, shown on the thermometer, has decreased by at least 12° C compared with the initial value T0. The radiator fan comes on at a pressure value from 15 to 16 bars measured on the high pressure gauge.The fan goes off when the high pressure drops from 11 to 12 bars.
