Removing ( Refitting ) Place the steering wheel in the centred position with the wheels straight.
Closely observe the safety regulations established for this operation.
 - 5580C18  air bag module - r+r - 4110A11  steering wheel - r+r for replacement or check for versions with air bag1. Undo the bolts.2. Remove the bottom trim (2a). To facilitate removal of the trim, move the steering column as appropriate after releasing the steering column position adjustment lever (2b).
1. Undo the bolts.2. Move clock spring (2a) and disconnect electrical connection (2b).

3. Remove the clock spring.
The clock spring is fitted with a device which automatically stops its rotation when it is removed from the steering wheel. Avoid forcing its rotation.
If the clock spring is reused it is advisable to secure the two plates with a band to prevent accidental rotations. Refitting ( Removing ) Check that the wheels are straight.
The parts supplied as spares are for fitting in a centred position.
If, for any reason, the upper plate for the clock spring should rotate in relation to the lower one in such a way that the relative position is no longer known, then the clock spring must be replaced.
Place the clock spring in its housing (if it is being resued, remove the band fitted previously). Reconnect the electrical connection.Tighten the bolts.1. If the clock spring is being replaced with a new one, remove the safety tab.
 - 4110A11  steering wheel - r+r for replacement or check for versions with air bag - 5580C18  air bag module - r+rConnect the battery.Test the operation of the horns.Using the Examiner, check that the system has not picked up errors during the operation.
