2400635 - 5580C26 LOCK BARREL KEY/SWITCH for deactivating passenger 'AIR BAG - R.R.

Before removing and refitting the switch, the following preliminary operations must be carried out: Place the ignition key in the OFF position and extract it;Disconnect the battery.

It is not possible to order a single lock barrel or to order barrels simply by using a part code. When ordering barrels, observe the special procedure set out in 5580E - Special accessories.

Removing ( Refitting ) 1. Open the right cover in the dashboard.2. Withdraw the switch (2a), releasing the retainers (2b).3. Disconnect the electrical connection.

4. Recover the switch. 1. If necessary, remove the retaining clip.2. Insert the vehicle key in the barrel.3. Extract the lock barrel. Refitting ( Removing ) Check that the switch is not damaged and, if necessary, conduct an electrical test on it. Insert the key barrel, position the clip and remove the key.1. Connect the electrical connection.2. Insert the switch (2a) in the housing, engaging the tab in the housing (2b). Attach the retainers (2c). Connect the battery.Using the Examiner, check that the system has not picked up errors during the operation.
