Functional description

The Cruise Control function is controlled by engine management unit M10 upon a command from the Cruise Control switch H7 located to the left of the steering wheel. Control H7 is ignition-operated (INT/A) from a line protected by fuse F5 in junction unit B1 .

Control H7 is connected to management unit M10:

  • to pin 22 of connector B, with 'OFF' signal
  • to pin 20 of connector B, with 'RECALL' signal
  • to pin 14 of connector B, with SET + signal
  • to pin 16 of connector B, with SET - signal
Pin 23 of connector D of M10 receives a signal from the second contact of brake light switch I30, ignition-operated (INT/A) through a line protected by fuse F1 in junction unit B1 . For management of the Cruise Control function, the control unit also uses a signal from pin 2 of connector D of M10 from clutch pedal switch l31 - supplied by ignition-operated power supply (INT/A) via a line protected by fuse F1 in junction unit B1 - and signals from accelerator pedal potentiometer K55 connected to pins 5, 8, 9, 10, 21 and 23 of connector C of M10 . (  See E5050  DIESEL ENGINES ELECTRONIC MANAGEMENT ) Engine management unit M10 , sends a signal - pin 44 of connector C to instrument E50 - pin 12 of connector A - which turns on the CRUISE warning light when the system is working.
