3315477 - Introduction - EXHAUST PIPES AND SILENCERS (Automatic transmission)

CONSTRUCTION FEATURES

EXHAUST SYSTEM

The engine exhaust gases flow towards the manifold (1) to the turbocharger and from the latter to the catalytic preconverter (2)  Characteristic of working principle 1080  EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM . From the catalytic preconverter, the exhaust gases reach the catalytic converter (4) through a connecting pipe (3)  Characteristic of working principle 1080  EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM . A flexible component (5) at the front of the exhaust pipe limits the transmission of vibrations. The rear section of the exhaust consists of two silencers (6) and (7) connected to one another by a flange with a seal. The exhaust pipe is supported by specific brackets comprising rubber blocks.Special guards limit the radiation of heat towards the bodyshell.
