3315654 - E3080 HEADLAMP AGLINMENT CORRECTOR - Functional description (Right hand drive, Xenon Gas headlamps)
Functional description
The xenon lamp adjustment system receives
its supply, only with the side lights on, at pin 16 of control unit
M87
and at pin 1 of the actuators
N30
and
N31
from the external lights switch H6, which in turn receives its ignition-dependent
supply (INT/A) at pin 10 through fuse
F5
of the junction
unit
B1
.
The control unit
M87
is connected
to earth
C30
via pin 1 while actuators
N30
and
N31
both
have pin 4 connected to earths
C10
and
C13
respectively.
The control unit
M87
, via pins 14
(positive) and 9 (earth), supplies both adjustment sensors
K28
and
K29
at pints 3 (positive) and 1 (earth). The sensors
K28
and
K29
in turn supply, as an output from pin 2, the alignment
signal which reaches the control unit
M87
at pins 13 (front
alignment) and 12 (rear alignment) respectively.
The actuators
N30
and
N31
(stepper motors) are controlled by two specific signals: a direction
signal (up or down), sent from pin 17 of the control unit
M87
to pins 3 of the actuators, and a pulse signal (travel), sent from
pin 18 of the control unit
M87
to pins 2 of the actuators.
The control unit
M87
is also connected
by pin 11 to the system diagnostic socket
R10
, and by pin
15 to the instrument panel for switching on the fault warning light
if a malfunction of the system is detected.
