3315628 - E3050 ELECTRIC FRONT WINDOWS - Functional description

Functional description

Control unit M81 controls the operation of the electrically-operated front windows. The power supply to control unit M81 reaches pin 2 of connector E from the line of maxifuse CENTR of B5 , protected by fuse F15 of junction unit B1 . Pin 4 of control unit M81 is supplied by the battery via the fuse CENTR of the MAXIFUSE box B5 , the contact for relay R1 of engine compartment control unit B1 and fuse F9 . Relay R1 is energized when the ignition switch H1 supplies the INT/A line. Pins 3 of connector B and 1 of connector E supply earth, C20 . Switches H44 (electrically-operated window control unit on driver's door) and H50 (passenger side front door electrically-operated window switch) are supplied when the ignition is turned on (INT/A) from a line from fuse F5 , of junction unit B1 , and are connected respectively to earth C15 and C20 . This means they are also lit when the key is turned to MAR. This means they are also lit when the key is turned to MAR.

When these switches are operated, they send control signals (negative) to control unit M81:

  • pins 12 and 5 of device H44 send signals to pins 4 and 3 of connector A of control unit M81 , respectively, to operate the left electric window.
  • pins 7 and 10 of device H44 send signals to pins 5 and 6 of connector A of control unit M81 , respectively, to operate the right electric window.
  • pins 2 and 1 of device H50 send signals to pins 1 and 2 of connector C of control unit M81 , respectively, to operate the right electric window.

Control unit M81 controls the electrically-operated windows as described previously:

  • pins 1 and 2 of connnector D of control unit M81 send commands to the left electric front window motor N60 .
  • pins 3 and 4 of connector D of control unit M81 send commands to right electric front motor N61 .
When the positive and negative signals are reversed, the motor direction of rotation is also reversed.
