3314053 - 1020A20 crank case oil sump - r + r clean seals for sealant application (Automatic transmission)

Removing ( Refitting ) Position the vehicle on the ramp. Make sure that the ignition is OFF (STOP position), then disconnect the negative battery terminal (refer to op.   5530B10  battery - r+r ).

Undo the drain plug and drain the engine oil.
Recover the engine oil in a suitable container.
1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the brackets (1b) connecting the crankcase sump to the intermediate driveshaft support.
1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the engine oil level sensor.

2. Undo and remove the engine oil level sensor.
1. Undo the front and rear bolts (1a) for the crankcase sump using tool (1b).

2. Undo the side bolts (2a) for the crankcase sump using tool (2b).

1. Undo the nut fixing the timing side rigid engine support to the flexible mounting.
1. Undo the nut fixing the rear power unit rigid support to the flexible mounting.
1. Fit a suitable engine lifting bracket.2. Fit the safety tools (2a) and (2b) for supporting the power unit.

Heat the area where the crankcase sump matches with the cylinder block/crankcase and cut the sealant.1. Raise the engine using the special tools, then lower the crankcase sump, as necessary, and undo the bolts fixing the engine oil inlet.
1. Remove the crankcase sump complete with engine oil inlet.
Refitting ( Removing ) Apply silicone sealant around the edge of the crankcase sump.

3. Remove the engine lifting bracket.
1. Tighten the nut securing the rear power unit rigid support to the flexible mounting to the recommended torque.
