Removing ( Refitting ) Place the car on a ramp with the wheels perfectly straight.Mark the position of the steering wheel in relation to the upper steering column shroud. 1. Disconnect the connector on the delivery pipe from pump to steering box to facilitate refitting.
1. Undo the nuts on the brackets securing the power steering pipes to the steering box.
 - 4450B10  Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (right).  - 7055B39  front additional wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, front element - r r (right). 1. Undo the nuts (1a) and disconnect the steering box track rods (1b) from the front hub vertical links using tool (1c).

Fit the protection and bolt in place.Fit the fail-safe device on the power steering box pinion.Connect the steering column to the steering box pinion and tighten the new bolt to the specified torque.

Fit the steering column universal joint guard and secure it with its nuts.Put the floor carpet back in place.Fit the accelerator pedal travel stop complete with rubber protector. Fit the bulkhead protection on the left side and secure it with its bolt. - 7040D14  engine bay rear side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (left).  - 7040D12  engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (left). Fill the power assisted steering circuit with the recommended fluid.

Bleed the power steering system as described belowWith the front wheels raised off the ground, with the engine switched off turn the steering wheel to full lock, left and right, 4-5 times. Check and, if necessary, top up the fluid level in the reservoir. Remove the car from the ramps.Start the engine and carry out 4 - 5 full steering wheel turn cycles (right and left). Top up the fluid level in the reservoir.
