Undo the drain plug and drain the engine oil.

Collect the engine oil in a suitable container.

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the lower engine flywheel protection (1b).2. Undo the bolts (2a) and move aside the rpm and timing sensor (2b) complete with mounting bracket and secure it.

1. Undo the bolts fixing the crankcase sump.Heat the area where the crankcase sump matches with the cylinder block/crankcase and cut the sealant.2. Remove the crankcase sump.

Refitting ( Removing

Check the condition of the sealant on the rear main bearing cap. re-apply if necessary.

Clean the matching surfaces of crankcase sump and cylinder block.Apply the recommended sealant to the entire perimeter of the crankcase sump.

1. Fitt the crankcase sump (1a) and fix it tightening the bolts (1b) and the bolt (1c) to the recommended torque.

Refit the rpm and timing sensor in its seating complete with mounting bracket and tighten its bolts.Fit the lower engine flywheel protection and fix it using the bolts.Tighten the engine oil drain plug to the crankcase sump to the recommended torque.
