3314238 - 1036H18 VALVE TAPPETS - Adjust. following clearance check

Removing ( Refitting ) Adjust the inlet valve clearances as described below. Remove the camshafts (refer to op.   1036D14  camshaft in cylinder head - r r on vehicle and   1036D18  camshaft in rh cylinder head - r r on vehicle ). 1. Withdraw a cup (1a) and its adjustment shim (1b). Refitting ( Removing ) 1. Measure the thickness of the adjustment shim (1a) using the tool (1b).

Calculate the size of the adjustment shim required to restore the correct valve clearance and obtain it.

Fit the new adjustment shim and the cup.Repeat the procedure on the remaining cup-shim pairs. Fit the camshafts (refer to op.   1036D14  camshaft in cylinder head - r r on vehicle and   1036D18  camshaft in rh cylinder head - r r on vehicle ). Adjust the exhaust valve clearances as described below.1. Loosen the lock nut (1a) and adjust the bolt (1b) until the exhaust valve clearance is correct.Tighten the lock nut and check the exhaust valve clearance once again.
