3308764 - Towing points

The tow hook that comes with the vehicle is in the tool box located under the luggage compartment lining.

To fit the tow hook proceed as described below.

  • Take the tow hook out of the tool box.
  • Remove the press-fitted cover on the front or rear bumper.
For this operation, if the flat-tipped screwdriver supplied is used, protect the tip with a soft rag to prevent damage to the vehicle.Fully tighten the seal in its housing.
Make sure that the hook is fully tightened (it should turn about 8 times in the threaded seat). Thoroughly clean the threaded housing before tightening the tow hook.
Before starting to tow, turn the ignition key to the ON position, then to the OFF position without extracting it. When the key is extracted, the steering lock is immediately engaged and it is consequently impossible to steer the wheels.Whilst towing, remember that the brake servo and the power assisted steering are not working, greater force will have to be exerted on the brake pedal and the steering wheel.Do not use flexible cables for towing and avoid jerking. During towing operations, check that the tow cable coupling does not damage parts with which it comes into contact. When towing the vehicle, the laws governing towing and road traffic must be obeyed.
