Removing ( Refitting ) Make sure that the ignition is off (STOP position), then disconnect the negative battery terminal (refer to op.   5530B10  battery - r+r ).

 - 7040D12  engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r . 1. Disconnect the electrical connection from the exhaust gas headlamp control unit.

 - 5540C40  motor (1), lh or rh, for correcting/aligning gas discharge light unit r r . 1. Rotate the exhaust gas headlamp control unit in a clockwise direction to release it from the fastening on the light cluster and move it as far away as possible.2. Undo the nuts (2a) and move the protective cover (2b) away.
1. Rotate in an anti-clockwise direction and disconnect the electrical connection from the dipped headlamp bulb.

2. Release the retaining spring (2a) and remove the dipped headlamp bulb for the exhaust gas headlamps (2b).
If the lamp is working properly, avoid touching the bulb with your hands. If this does happen, clean the bulb with alcohol.
Refitting ( Removing ) Place the exhaust gas dipped headlamp bulb back in its housing in such a way that the references on the actual bulb and on the bulb holder coincide.Connect the electrical connection to the dipped headlamp bulb, rotating it in a clockwise directionPlace the protective cover back in its housing and fix it using the nuts.Rotate the exhaust gas headlamp control unit in an anti-clockwise direction to fasten it to the light cluster. - 5540C40  motor (1), lh or rh, for correcting/aligning gas discharge light unit r r . Connect the electrical connection to the exhaust gas headlamp control unit. - 7040D12  engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r . Connect the negative (-) battery terminal - 5540B38  headlamp/light cluster light beam - position .
