3308768 - PRECAUTIONS
The engine compartment contains many moving parts, components at high temperatures and high tension leads that could constitute a serious danger to an inexperienced mechanic.The following precautions must be carefully observed when carrying out maintenance operations:
- Be careful of the radiator fan. It could start working automatically as a result of the temperature of the coolant.
- Do not smoke or used naked flames.
- Always keep a fire extinguisher to hand.
- Do not use the jack that comes with the vehicle for lifting it to carry out checks underneath it.

![]() | Take care of scarves, ties or other loose items of clothing: they could be caught up in the moving components. |
![]() | In the case of checking or maintenance operations in the engine compartment, take special care not to bang your head on the edge of the bonnet lid. |
![]() | Never smoke whilst carrying out operations in the engine compartment: there could be inflammable vapours and gases present causing a fire risk. |
![]() | If the vehicle is used frequently for towing a trailer, the interval between services should be reduced. |
![]() | Take care not to confuse the various fluids during topping up operations: they are all incompatible with one another and could seriously damage the vehicle. |
