3314323 - 1080B38 left catalytic preconverter r r or replace cylinder head gasket (Automatic transmission)

Removing ( Refitting ) Place the vehicle on a ramp. Ensure that the ignition key is in OFF position, then disconnect the battery negative terminal (  - 5530B10  battery - r+r ).

Proceed with the removal  - 7040D12  engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (Right and left sides). Proceed with the removal  - 7040D30  engine bay front beam cover - r r . Proceed with the removal  - 7055B54  under-engine guard - r r . Proceed with the removal  - 1080B92  left upper lambda sensor r r . Proceed with the removal  - 1076A70  heat shield for left catalytic preconverter r r . 1. Undo nut (1a) and remove collar (1b) connecting the exhaust pipes between preconverters and catalytic converters. 2. Undo nuts (2a) and remove the exhaust pipe between left preconverter and catalytic converter (2b), preconverter side. Remove the gasket. 1. Loosen connection (1a) fixing the guide pipe for the engine oil dipstick (1b) to the crankcase. 1. Remove guide pipe for the engine oil dipstick together with dipstick. 1. Unscrew the nuts securing the catalytic preconverter to the cylinder head. 1. Remove the left catalytic preconverter (1a) and gaskets (1b). Refitting ( Removing ) Refit the left catalytic converter complete with a new gasket and secure by tightening the nuts to the recommended torque.

Place the guide pipe for the engine oil dipstick back in its housing complete with the dipstick and secure it using the bolt.After fitting the gasket, connect the exhaust pipe between left preconverter and catalytic converter, preconverter side, and tighten the nuts to the specified torque.

Refit the collar connecting the exhaust pipes between preconverter and catalytic converter and tighten by doing up the nut. Proceed with the refitting  - 1076A70  heat shield for left catalytic preconverter r r . Proceed with the refitting  - 1080B92  left upper lambda sensor r r . Proceed with the refitting  - 7055B54  under-engine guard - r r . Proceed with the refitting  - 7040D30  engine bay front beam cover - r r . Proceed with the removal  - 7040D12  engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (Right and left sides). Connect the battery terminal (-).Remove the car from the ramp.
