Removing ( Refitting ) Position the vehicle on the rampEnsure that the ignition key is in the OFF position, then disconnect the negative battery terminal (-).

Draw off the fluid from the power assisted steering reservoir using a suitable syringe. - 7055B54  under-engine guard - r r . 1. Release the air conditioner compressor's electrical connections from the bracket on the power steering pump and move them away.2. Undo the connector (2a) and disconnect the supply pipe from the pump to the power assisted steering box (2b), power assisted steering box side.
 - 4450B12  front or rear wheels (two) - r+r .  - 7055B39  front additional wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, front element - r r (Right and left).  - 7055B41  front supplementary wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, rear element r r (Right and left). 1. Release the supply pipe from the pump to the power steering box from the band on the power steering fluid reservoir mounting.
 - 1076B52  exhaust pipe (one) leaving l/h or r/h exhaust manifold - r + r (Right and left).  - 1084B30  engine oil filter r r .  - 1092G10  single engine belt r r .  - 1092G20  engine component single belt fixed tensioner - one - r + r .  - 5530A14  alternator - r+r for versions with air conditioner . 1. Release the supply pipe from the pump to the power steering box from the band.
1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the power steering box heat shield (1b).2. Release the supply pipe from pump to power steering box from the bands.
1. Undo the bolt securing the supply pipe from pump to power steering box to the power steering box.2. Undo the connector (2a) and disconnect the supply pipe from the pump to the power assisted steering box (2b), power assisted steering box side.
1. Undo the nuts (1a) and disconnect the front anti-roll bar joints (1b) from the brackets.
1. Undo the bolts (1a) securing the front anti-roll bar brackets (1b) to the front suspension subframe.
1. Undo the bolts fixing the power assisted steering box to the front suspension frame.
1. Remove the delivery pipe from pump to power steering box and withdraw from the right front wheel-arch.
Refitting ( Removing ) Refit in its seating the delivery pipe from pump to power steering box.1. Tighten the bolts securing the power steering box to the front suspension subframe to the specified torque.

1. Tighten the bolts securing the front anti-roll bar brackets to the front suspension frame to the recommended torque.

1. Connect the front anti-roll bar joints (1a) to the brackets and tighten the nuts (1b) to the specified torque.

1. Connect the supply pipe from pump to power steering box (1a), power steering box side, and tighten the connector (1b) to the specified torque.

2. Tighten the bolt securing the supply pipe from the pump to power steering box to the power steering box.
Secure the supply pipe from pump to power steering box with the bands.Refit in its seating the power steering box heat shield and tighten its bolts.Secure the supply pipe from the pump to the power assisted steering box with the band. - 5530A14  alternator - r+r for versions with air conditioner .  - 1092G20  engine component single belt fixed tensioner - one - r + r .  - 1092G10  single engine belt r r .  - 1084B30  engine oil filter r r .  - 1076B52  exhaust pipe (one) leaving l/h or r/h exhaust manifold - r + r (Right and left). Secure the supply pipe from pump to power steering box with the band on the power steering fluid reservoir mounting. - 7055B41  front supplementary wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, rear element r r (Right and left).  - 7055B39  front additional wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, front element - r r (Right and left).  - 4450B12  front or rear wheels (two) - r+r . 1. Connect the supply pipe from pump to power steering box (1a), power steering pump side, and tighten the connector (1b) to the specified torque.

2. Replace the air conditioner compressor's electrical connections back in their seatings and secure them to the bracket on the power steering pump.

Bleed the power steering system as described belowWith the front wheels raised off the ground, with the engine switched off turn the steering wheel to full lock, left and right, 4-5 times. Check and, if necessary, top up the fluid level in the reservoir. Remove the car from the ramps.Start the engine and carry out 4 - 5 full steering wheel turn cycles (right and left).
