Removing ( Refitting ) Position the vehicle on the ramp.Ensure that the ignition key is in the stop position, then disconnect the battery negative terminal.

Draw off the fluid from the power assisted steering reservoir using a suitable syringe. - 7040D12  engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (Right).  - 7040D14  engine bay rear side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (Right).  - 4450B12  front or rear wheels (two) - r+r .  - 7055B39  front additional wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, front element - r r (Right).  - 7055B41  front supplementary wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, rear element r r (Right and left).  - 7055B54  under-engine guard - r r .  - 1076B52  exhaust pipe (one) leaving l/h or r/h exhaust manifold - r + r (Right and left). 1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the power steering box heat shield (1b).2. Release the delivery pipe from pump to power steering box from its band.3. Release the delivery pipe from pump to steering box and the flexible pipe between return pipe from heat exchanger and rigid pipe from the fixing band.4. Undo the nuts (4a) securing the brackets (4b) for the return pipe from intermediate rubber pipe from power steering fluid reservoir to the power steering box.
1. Disconnect the intermediate rubber pipe from the return pipe from the intermediate rubber pipe to the power steering fluid reservoir.
 - 1084B30  engine oil filter r r .  - 1092G10  single engine belt r r .  - 1092G20  engine component single belt fixed tensioner - one - r + r .  - 5530A14  alternator - r+r for versions with air conditioner . 1. Release the return pipe from the intermediate rubber pipe to the power steering fluid reservoir from the relevant band.
1. Undo the bolts securing the power steering fluid reservoir.
1. Relese the delivery pipe from power steering pump from the band on the power steering fluid reservoir mounting.2. Remove the drip tray from under the power steering fluid resvoir.
1. Lower the power steering fluid reservoir as necessary.2. Disconnect the return pipe from the intermediate rubber pipe to the power steering fluid reservoir, reservoir side.
1. Undo the bolts fixing the power assisted steering box to the front suspension frame.
1. Remove the return pipe from the intermediate rubber pipe to the power steering fluid reservoir, withdrawing it from the left wheelarch.
Refitting ( Removing ) Refit in its seating the return pipe from the intermediate rubber pipe to the power steering fluid resevoir.1. Tighten to the specified torque the bolts securing the power steering box to the front suspension subframe.

Connect the intermediate rubber pipe to the return pipe from the intermediate rubber pipe to the power steering fluid reservoir.Tighten the nuts securing the brackets for the return pipe from intermediate rubber pipe to power steering fluid reservoir to the power steering box.Secure the delivery pipe from pump to steering box and the flexible pipe between return pipe from heat exchanger and rigid pipe with the fixing band.Secure the supply pipe from the pump to the power assisted steering box with the band.Refit the power steering box heat shield in its seat and tighten its bolts. - 1076B52  exhaust pipe (one) leaving l/h or r/h exhaust manifold - r + r (Right and left).  - 7055B54  under-engine guard - r r .  - 7055B41  front supplementary wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, rear element r r (Right and left).  - 7055B39  front additional wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, front element - r r (Right).  - 4450B12  front or rear wheels (two) - r+r .  - 7040D14  engine bay rear side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (Right).  - 7040D12  engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (Right). Connect the battery terminal (-).Fill the power steering circuit with the recommended fluid.

Bleed the power steering system as described below.With the front wheels raised off the ground, with the engine switched off, carry out 4-5 complete steering wheel rotation cycles (left and right).Check and, if necessary, top up the fluid level in the reservoir.Remove the car from the ramp.Start the engine and carry out 4 - 5 full steering wheel turn cycles (right and left).Top up the fluid level in the reservoir.
