3315347 - 1004D40 engine - position on stand and remove (Automatic transmission)

1. Secure and support the engine for hoisting using a hydraulic hoist fitted with suitable chains.2. Undo the bolts (2a) securing the brackets (2b) supporting the engine oil supply and return pipes to the cooling radiator.
1. Undo the connectors (1a) and remove the engine oil cooling radiator (1b) complete with supply and return pipes (1c).
1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the insufficient engine oil pressure switch.

1. Remove the engine oil filter (1a) using a suitable tool (1b).
1. Undo the bolt (1a) and remove the fixed single drive belt tensioner (1b).2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the alternator (2b).
1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the alternator bracket/spacer (1b).2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the alternator bracket (2b).
1. Undo the bolts (1a) and nuts (1b) and remove the power unit rigid rear support (1c).
1. Undo the nut (1a) and remove the complete engine oil dipstick (1b).2. Undo the nuts (2a) and remove the left exhaust manifold (2b) complete with gasket (2c).
Fit the engine on the overhauling stand using suitable tools.1. The special brackets can be used to support the engine on the overhaul stand.

Fit the alternator mounting and fix it using the bolts.Fit the alternator bracket/spacer and fix it using the bolts.1. Fit the alternator (1a) and fix it tightening the bolts (1b) to the recommended torque.

Fit the engine oil filter and tighten it fully by hand.Connect the electrical connection for the insufficient engine oil pressure switch.Place the engine oil cooling radiator, complete with supply and return pipes, back in its seating.Connect the engine oil supply and return pipes to the engine oil cooling radiator and fix them tightening the connectors to the specified torque.
