3309887 - E5060 CRUISE CONTROL - Description (Automatic transmission)

Description

The cruise control function - constant speed regulator - allows the car to be driven at the desired speed without pressing the accelerator pedal. This reduces driver fatigue on motorways, particularly on long trips, because the set speed is maintained automatically.The Cruise Control function is controlled by the engine management unit by means of a Cruise Control switch located on the lever to the left of the steering wheel.The cruise control can only be activated if the car speed is over 30 km/h; when the function is switched on, the warning light on the instrument panel comes on.

The function is automatically deactivated in the following cases:

  • by pressing the brake pedal;
  • by pressing the clutch pedal;
  • by inadvertently moving the automatic transmission lever to position N.
When the ignition key is turned to STOP or the switch on the lever is turned to OFF, the saved speed is deleted and the system is deactivated.The Cruise Control power supply lines are protected by two fuses in the junction unit.
