3315629 - E3050 ELECTRIC FRONT WINDOWS - Functional description

Functional description

Control unit M40 controls the operation of the electrically-operated front windows. The direct supply to control unit M40 reaches pins 15 and 16 of connector A and pins 7 and 8 of connector B, via a line from maxifuse CENTR of B5, protected by fuses F8, F15 and F19 of junctionn unit B1. Control unit M40 is connected to earth C20 via pins 4 and 20 of connector A and pins 6 and 13 of connector B. Switches H44 (electrically-operated window control unit on driver's door) and H50 (passenger side front door electrically-operated window switch) are supplied when the ignition is turned on (INT/A) from a line from fuse F5 , of junction unit B1 , and are connected respectively to earth C15 and C20 . This means they are also lit when the key is turned to MAR. This means they are also lit when the key is turned to MAR.

When these switches are operated, they send control signals (negative) to control unit M40:

  • pins 12 and 5 of device H44 send signals to pins 11 and 10 of connector A of control unit M40, respectively, to operate the left electric window.
  • pins 7 and 10 of device H44 send signals to pins 18 and 5 of connector A of control unit M40, respectively, to operate the right electric window.
  • Pins 2 and 1 of device H50 send signals to pins 6 and 2 of connector A of control unit M40, respectively, to operate the right electric window.

Control unit M40 controls the electrically-operated windows as described previously:

  • pins 8 and 9 of connnector A of control unit M40 send commands to the left electric front window motor N60.
  • pins 1 and 3 of connnector A of control unit M40 send commands to the right electric front window motor N61.
When the positive and negative signals are reversed, the motor direction of rotation is also reversed.
