3314632 - 4130A10 power steering box - r+r - check tow-in if necessary separately - includes bleeding

Removing ( Refitting ) Place the car on a ramp with the wheels perfectly straight.Mark the position of the steering wheel in relation to the upper steering column shroud.  - 7040D12  engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (left).  - 7040D14  engine bay rear side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (left). 1. Undo the bolt (1a) and remove the bulkhead protection on the left side.2. remove the power steering fluid reservoir cap and drain the fluid using a suitable syringe. 1. Disconnect the connector on the delivery pipe from pump to steering box to facilitate refitting.  - 1076B50  exhaust pipe attachment to engine - r + r . Refitting ( Removing ) Refit the power steering box in its seating, working from the front right wheelarch.Tighten the nuts securing the power steering heat exchanger pipe to the body shell.1. Tighten the bolts securing the power steering box to the front suspension subframe to the specified torque.

2. Connect the delivery pipe from pump to power steering box, steering box side, and tighten its connector to the specified torque.

 - 1076B50  exhaust pipe attachment to engine - r + r .  - 7055B54  under-engine guard - r r . Connect the power steering box track rods to the front hub vertical links, and tighten the nuts to the specified torque.

 - 7055B39  front additional wheel arch half (one), lh or rh, front element - r r (right).  - 4450B10  Front WHEEL (one) - R.R. (right). Tighten the nuts on the brackets securing the power steering pipes to the steering box. Connect the pipe from pump to power steering box, pump side, and tighten the connector to the specified torque.

1. Tighten the bolt securing the bracket for the delivery pipe from pump to power steering box.2. Connect the outlet hose from the power steering box (2a), steering box side, and tighten the connector (2b) to the specified torque.

Fit the protection and bolt in place.Fit the fail-safe device on the power steering box pinion.Connect the steering column to the steering box pinion and tighten the new bolt to the specified torque.

Fit the steering column universal joint guard and secure it with its nuts.Put the floor carpet back in place.Fit the accelerator pedal travel stop complete with rubber protector. Fit the bulkhead protection on the left side and secure it with its bolt. - 7040D14  engine bay rear side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (left).  - 7040D12  engine front side cover (one) lh or rh - r r (left). Fill the power assisted steering circuit with the recommended fluid.

Bleed the power steering system as described belowWith the front wheels raised off the ground, with the engine switched off turn the steering wheel to full lock, left and right, 4-5 times. Check and, if necessary, top up the fluid level in the reservoir. Remove the car from the ramps.Start the engine and carry out 4 - 5 full steering wheel turn cycles (right and left). Top up the fluid level in the reservoir.
