3314713 - 4450C34 bearing of one front wheel hub, l/h or r/h - replace with pillar removed

The bearings with the multi-polar magnetic codifier for A.B.S. active sensors should never be placed in direct contact with permanent magnets or electro-magnets.
Removing ( Refitting ) 1. Remove the wheel hub (1a) complete with bearings (1b) and axial bearing track (1c) from the steering knuckle using the hydraulic press, the half plates (1d) and the extractor (1e).

1. Remove the dust cover from the wheel hub.Remove the radial bearing track from the wheel hub, as necessary, using a suitable chisel.
Protective goggles should be worn for this operation.
2. Remove the radial bearing track (2a) using the extractor (2b), the clamps (2c) and a suitable reaction base (2d).

1. Position the steering knuckle in the vice fitted with protective jaws.2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the outer track (2b) for the axial and radial bearings.
Refitting ( Removing ) Fit the outer race for the axial and radial bearings and secure it using the bolts.
When fitting a new bearing with a multi-polar magnetic codifier, remove the (black) plastic protection just before fitting the bearing.
The bearing should be fitted with the multipolar magnetic codifier facing towards the A.B.S. sensor
Avoid any impacts to the multipolar magnetic codifier. Avoid any contact between the multipolar magnetic codifer and dirty surfaces. At the end of the fitting operation, check that the multipolar magnetic codifier is clean and, if necessary, clean it using a clean cloth.
