3315634 - E3051 ELECTRIC REAR WINDOWS - Functional description (Right hand drive)

Functional description

The control unit M82 manages the operation of the electric rear windows. The direct supply to the control unit M82 arrives via the specific fuse B17 at pin 2 connector E. Pin 4 of connector B is supplied by the battery via the fuse CENTR of the MAXIFUSE box B5 , the contact for relay R1 of engine compartment control unit B1 and fuse F9 . Fuse F9 also supplies pin 3 of the electric windows control unit on the front driver's door H44 . The ignition-dependent supply (INT/A) of the line protected by fuse F5 of the junction unit B1 supplies the electric window control unit on the driver's door H44 pin 6 and the switches H53 pin 5 and H54 pin 5 (on rear right and rear left doors respectively). Pins 3 of connector B and 1 of connector E supply the earth, C31 . When the switches are operated, they send the command signals (positive and negative) to the rear electric window control unit M82 , but only if the safety switch located in the unit H44 is in the enablement position. If it is not, it cuts off the supply to both the switches on the driver's door and the switches on the rear doors. With the safety switch in the enablement position, the switches are illuminated when the ignition is on (MAR). The block switch is also illuminated when the ignition is on, by a specific LED supplied by the line protected by fuse F5 of junction unit B1 :

When the switches are operated, they send control signals ( negative) to control unit M81:

  • pins 4 and 9 of device H44 send signals to pins 4 and 3 of connector A of control unit M82 , respectively, to operate the left rear electric window in the left front door.
  • pins 2 and 8 of device H44 send signals to pins 5 and 6 of connector A of control unit M82 , respectively, to operate the right rear electric window in the left front door.
  • pins 2 and 1 of the electric window switch in the right rear door H54 send signals to pins 1 and 2 of connector C of control unit M82 , respectively, to operate the right rear electric window.
  • pins 2 and 1 of the electric window switch in the left rear door H53 send signals to pins 4 and 3 of connector A of control unit M82 , respectively, to operate the left rear electric window.

The control unit M82 controls the electric windows as described above:

  • from pins 1 and 2 of connector D it sends commands to the rear left motor N65 ;
  • from pins 3 and 4 of connector D it sends commands to the rear right motor N66 .
When the positive and negative signals are reversed, the motor direction of rotation is also reversed. Pin 4 of H53 and H54 and pin 1 of H44 are earthed C15 via the switch housed in H44 .
